ABS plastic (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is strong and tough and lends itself well to metal plating. As a plastic  button, it is lighter in weight than its metal equivalent, ideal for fine fabrics.
 
The elongated hexagon shape of this button has 2 daisies running along the middle, a parallel band on either side, and a flower bud, with scroll on either side, along the two ends.
